2023: The First Year

March
The project was conceptualized with the name Palmy Investing, out of interest in the stock market and the ambition to learn web technology. For those who dare, why the project runs as Palmy Investing:

" The palmy (prosperous:successful:glorious) times for investors. We as Palmy Investing describe the state of investing as the growth of wealth in our name, image and intellectual property. "

April
Palmy was introduced by publishing a first version, accessible through web. At that time, the concept was not yet fully developed, but because we decided to build in public we wanted to publish a first version as soon as possible. It was also clear, that Palmy will be bootstrapped as far as possible.

June
Partnerships for data retrieval and email delivery and began building a small network of like-minded retail investors.

July/August
Migrated all important tools to a dashboard. The palmy dashboard had no research terminal, no portfolio management system and no real-world users yet.

September
We announced a relaunch that will include our terminal along with the portfolio management system and a subscribable tier for advanced usage.

November/December
Our relaunch of palmy includes the new research terminal, a beta for portfolio management and an incremental to 10k stocks, 1k ETFs and more financial instruments such as Forex Pairs and Indices. Through that we managed to get our first 200 members & early adaptors with success-critical feedback/critique.

December
We get the chance to be at the first start up event of Palmy. A great proof of work for the first year & first growth regarding traction and public interest.

I am happy to see such a positive outcome with the new frontend.
Thanks to the member pointing out that the UI/UX need improvements: The frontend was like the elephant in the room.

“ After reviewing different tabs I think you have a good foundation for potentially a really great platform. Here are some initial thoughts: The UI definitely could use some work. It was a little confusing in certain areas and competitors have very smooth UI “
